Becoming an electrical contractor in California requires a significant commitment to education, training, and a rigorous licensing process. The license you’ll need is the C-10 Electrical Contractor license, which is issued by the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). This is a separate and distinct process from the electrician certification issued by the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), which allows you to work as an electrician for a C-10 licensed contractor.
You must have four years of qualified experience, and much more. Read all about the rigorous qualifications!
